The Honourable Company of Master Mariners whisked students from George Green's School in Docklands up the River Thames on a private hire cruise boat to visit HQS Wellington at Temple Steps. They learnt about the role of hospital ships in WW1, life on board for medical staff and shortages in the supply of medicine and bandages. They were thinking about how the war had such an impact on those who worked behind the scenes.
Visiting Apothecaries' Hall the day before had given them an insight into the history of medicine and the training of medical staff.
George Green's School teamed up with St Jude & St Paul's Primary School in Islington to create some inspired artwork - sketches of ships, Apothecaries' cabinets full of artefacts, memorabilia and curiosities for an exhibition for parents, staff and governors. The Private View was wonderful with lots of families and governors from both schools.
This is a brilliant writing and very pleased to find this site. I couldn’t discover to much different information on your blog. I will surely be back again to look at some other important posts that you have in future.
